MEET OUR ENTERTAINERS FOR THIS YEAR…
Alfie Smith is a prolific songwriter, an accomplished performer and talented multi-instrumentalist. Known best for his resophonic guitars, brazen slide licks and uncompromising vocals, Alfie is endorsed by several luthiers including Goodman Guitars (who have recently named a guitar model after him) and Goldtone Banjos. He has been nominated for a dozen Hamilton music awards including Best Male Vocalist and Best Guitarist, and has represented Toronto in the Memphis International Blues Challenge. To date, Alfie has released six records, his most recent being Sometimes the Rain. He is currently signed and distributed through Busted Flat Records.
Alfie has played from Sudbury to New Orleans. He has been a featured performer at Mariposa, Festival of Friends, Home County, Festival Borealis, Eaglewood, Mill Race, Red Rock, Brampton, Niagara Blues Festival, Harbourfront Blues Festival, Octoberfolk, Orillia Spring Blues, Barriefolk and Orangeville Blues & Jazz festival.
ALMOST HIP was born in the fall of 1990. It played it’s 1st Official gig at a bar in Kitchener called “DUFFERS ” on Oct 6th. The band has not stopped accepting bookings since that day. The Almost Hip is comprised of professionally seasoned Musicians with 25+ years of experience just covering “The Tragically Hip”. Bars, Casino’s, Weddings, Stag and Doe’s, Pig Roasts, Birthday Party’s, NYE …. YOU NAME IT!!!
Almost Hip have studied and concentrate on reproducing the ‘LIVE’ HIP sound. The Same sound that has catapulted to band to the Status of “CANADA’S BAND”. Craig Dougan’s voice is such an extremely close comparison to Gord Downie’s, that if you closed your eyes, you’d imagine Gord Downie singing. Craig enjoys getting his audiences up Singing and Dancing along with him. He delivers the songs with Integrity, Intensity and Honesty. Erick is an award-winning musician, singer/songwriter, author and has released 8 CDs and 3 children’s book. He has been entertaining children at schools, libraries, fairs, and community events throughout Ontario and Eastern Canada for over 25 years with his fun-filled, high energy, interactive musical show.

The Footbridge Road band is a Cambridge-based band known for their 5-part harmonies and variety of songs. The band has played numerous bars and festivals in KW, Cambridge, Guelph, Brantford, and Goderich. Band members are Kathy Altman, Deanna Riese, Alex Riese, Steve Riese and Dave Savoie.
Jenny Howes Duo
With her commanding voice that has been said to both amaze and engage her audiences, Jenny Howes brings enthusiasm and energy to her rocked out covers and a sweet softness to her coffee house ballads. Her husband, Daryl, provides the perfect instrumental accompaniment. With their passion to transcend their fans with their mutual love for one another and their music, this duo is a perfect fit in any venue. Developing a sound all their own; incorporating acoustic guitar and lively percussion, this duo creates a vibe that is both edgy and soulful. Influenced by classic singer songwriters of the 70’s; rock and grunge of the 90’s; and pop and indie folk rock of today, Jenny and Daryl are sure not to disappoint, covering a unique variety of music guaranteed to have you singing right along!
The John McKinley Band
John McKinley’s playing style touches on Texas-style Blues-Rock and groove/funk while incorporating a strong dose of Latin influence due to his Mexican American roots. A native of Roswell, New Mexico, he has been influenced by such musicians as Freddie King, Jeff Beck, Robben Ford and ZZ Top. His career has spanned many decades and he’s opened for ZZ Top and even jammed with Stevie Ray Vaughn.
